Alonso Palomino is a Lima native, a professional bartender who graduated from the Gourmet Bar school. Training under Javier Caballeroat at the Liquid Experience Workshop in Barcelona, he observed and learned from many renowned bartenders enhancing and guiding his education. In April 2014, he graduated as Pisco Taster and Manager at the Wine and Pisco Institute, IDVIP, at San Martin de Porres University.
His creativity was encouraged right from his first posting at the renowned gourmet restaurant Nanka, in Lima. His interest in signature cocktails was spurred creating original recipes. He helped open the Hard Rock Cafe in Lime, broadening his experience before moving to the current 33rd in the World's 50 Best Restaurants, Astrid & Gaston at Casa Moreyra, working alongside previous Master of Pisco Aaron Diaz. He developed many 'Cocteleria Conceptual', high-end cockails showcasing his skill. Alonso has even prepared a Zacapa rum cocktail tasting selection for Lorena Vásquez, master blender of the brand and Rebecca Quiñónez, worldwide brand representative. His list of accolades includes his own cocktail catering business Umawi Cocktail Móvil and attending the leading seminars and workshops in Peru on Cocktail Mixology.
